From Modern Decor to Baby Nursery! Refinished!

Happy to finally have a little extra time to post things we’ve been up to in the new house. Mostly things for the kids room!

So I wanted to share a fun little project I did for my baby girls nursery.

I saw this at a resale shop for $5!

As soon as I seen the gold leaves. I knew I needed it for baby’s room!  Obviously like that, it looks like it belongs in a living room , definitely not a baby nursery lol.
The baby’s room main colors are pink, gold, light grey, and white. So I covered all the gold leaves with painters tape and spray painted the rest white.

Let dry…. painted some leaves pink and left some white.  Clear coat and DONE!

Super simple, quick and easy transformation!

After hanging it up in on her wall, I noticed some dark spots that need to be touched up a little, but overal, it goes perfect with her room!

36 Weeks Pregnant. I’m Back!!

Hello 36 Weeks!!  Two days away from October!  Fall weather is finally here. Window are open and light jacket on!

We moved into the new house and have been extremely busy. On top of making room for our normal activities, I’ve had no time for any posting.

Getting the fence up, working on the kids room and my list that’s a mile long of things to do!

Jump right to it…

Third trimester symptoms…

All in all, my only problem has been  heartburn. Luckily the past week, it has slowly been disappearing. I came down with a cold and cough that took forever to get over. I’m still coughing a few times a day! Eh

Working out and fitness in the third trimester…

Unfortunately my workout days have drop to 1-2 days a week. Definitely not my goal in the first few months of pregnancy. With moving and  being so busy, going from morning to night, there is just no time or energy left to workout. I’m definitely getting excited to get back to my normal routine and gain back progress lost. Right now 1-2 days will have to do. I’m just enjoying our new neighborhood and new house ! My main focus is family right now, spending my last few weeks with my first baby before he becomes Big Brother.

Just make sure to watch my fit mom of TWO  Journey starting soon =]
On to my 36 Weeks baby bump!

And there is it is…

side view and front view!! My bump is definitely measuring a lot smaller than with My first pregnancy.  Last appointment I had my final ultrasound to check growth of the baby. I was measuring at 34/35 centimeters. Exactly where they want me to be and baby was 6lbs 2oz!! I was given the okay to go into labor at anytime and that they won’t stop it if I have start having contractions!

I’ve been having random contractions, but nothing serious. I’m really hoping she comes soon and on her own. I really do not want to be induced again!

Beyond ready to meet this girl. She’s already a wild child in my belly. Very different from pregnancy number one!

Maybe the next time I post, baby will be here!! Oh how I hope. 36 Weeks Pregnant, you really miss the simple things in life… like simply rubbing lotion on your legs and feet without taking a break 😂

Thanks for reading !! ❤

29 Weeks Pregnant

Wholly Cow!! I cant believe Im here writing for Week 29. I feel like I just wrote  first Positively Pregnant Post! When Finding out your pregnant before your missed period and having a rough First Trimester and a little bit of Second,  those sick days can feel like Your Pregnant for eternity but when I really sit and think. It Flew by!

As I am on my way to week 30, I feel like that’s turning the corner. I cant wait to hit the 2 Months left Countdown. Being as busy as we are, two month go by super fast.

For someone with little patience, waiting is beyond hard for me,  some days I get so emotional, kind of like a child waiting to open a gift.  This girl is constantly kicking me, I completely  love it, they are super painful at times, I want her to continue her growth, but I want to meet her so badly that I cry at times. Thanks pregnancy emotions. I sit here and think, there’s no way I can wait 11 more weeks, obviously I have no choice, We need baby to bake some more, but me… waiting for anything… Im horrible at it. =)

How am I feeling at 29 Weeks Pregnant?!

Besides feeling impatient, I feel really good. Considering, I have deadly heartburn every night. I have a decent amount of energy for 29 weeks Pregnant. I don’t get very good nights of sleep because of the heartburn.Which people are always reminding me… ” Get use to it, you wont have much sleep with a newborn”    Thank you… yes, I remember, I had a newborn before. However, I cant wait to be up with my baby girl, that doesn’t bother me, what bothers me is waking up in pain, Im convinced if my heartburn gets any worse, Flames will start to shoot out of my mouth lol And to be honest, Im not big on sleep in the first place. I never nap, and I feel like the days are so short, I run out of time to get everything I want to get done before night.

Working out…

I am still lightly working out. If I don’t workout, Im still very active. I Hate siting down unless I am in pain/discomfort, or its 8:30/9:00 O’clock at night. I work with a  lot of resistant band training, 10-15lbs dumbbell/ kettelbells  and the lightest weight on my machine. Im really missing my heavy weights and more difficult workouts but in less than 3 months ill Be back on my regular routine ASAP!!

Nutrition…

I would say my nutrition is 70/30… Weekly, not daily. I enjoy my favorite foods and snacks more often than pre pregnancy. Im definitely taking advantage a little bit, considering when Baby girl is out  I KNOW ill be All Serous business back to my old Meal Plans =)

Hurry up Fall!! I cant wait to meet you

Top 10 Must Haves for a Home Gym

I know not everyone is interested in going to a Gym. However, The Gym Isn’t the only way to get in shape, and reach your goals.

Gym Memberships can be…

-Expensive: Some people  Simply don’t want to, or just  cant afford the extra  Monthly payment for a membership

-Uncomfortable: For A lot of people I have talked to, Going to the Gym is completely out of their comfort zone. I always recommend , If its out of your comfort zone, at least give it a try  for a week or two, without trying you will obviously never know! However, in the end, some people just don’t feel comfortable.

-Time:  Not everyone has a schedule that can easily  fit in the hour at the gym, with travel, work schedule, distance to the gym  maybe to far,  or having children, etc…

Which is Why I Have always worked out from home.

Working Out From Home…

-Convenient: The distance to my basement is not far at all. Either Wake up early, or get  a workout in later in the night.

Busy Days, I can easily split my workout in half if needed.

-Motivation: Going to bed in my workout clothes and waking up ready to go down stairs and get my early morning work out in, shower and get on with my day… Its takes a lot less motivation then to  wake up my son, get him ready to go, do everything that needs to be done and drive to the gym.

-Money Saver: I didn’t start of with the equipment I have now, and Im Definitely   not done investing money into new things. So Personally for me, I don’t plan on stopping my fitness Journey. Beside right now  being Almost 28 Weeks Pregnant, I don’t get to work out as much until baby arrives. So in the long run, paying for a gym membership, The child care for soon to be 2 kids and gas, just isn’t worth it.

-Comfort:  You don’t have to feel uncomfortable in your own home!!  Its just you vs. yourself.  No need to feel uncomfortable or  self conscious! Blast your Music and dance Between Sets! =)

Pregnancy Update! 27 Weeks Pregnant!

I don’t think I posted a pregnancy update since I found out what I was having. Which was around Week 18!  Tomorrow I will be 27 Weeks pregnant! Wooohooo!! Sooooo close to the beginning of my third trimester! These Weeks are absolutely flying by! It help that we are so busy and have so much going on because there are time that I am so darn impatient! I can not wait to hold my Baby Girl! We all can’t wait to meet her! Every night the daddy and Ayden both talk to my belly and feel her kick.  Ayden loves laying his head on my belly and laughs when she kicks/punches his head!  He says “woah, that’s crazy”  lol
Second trimester symptoms…

As  some of you may know, my first trimester was not easy for me. Compared to my first pregnancy, this girl has beat me up! However, luckily as second trimester came along, I finally started feeing better.  Besides my belly being sore, hard and u comfortable at times. I have no complains. Besides HEARTBURN! I expected that though and I’m fully prepared to handle it this pregnancy!

All in all, the hard part of the first trimester is long gone, and in No time , those horrible days will be filled with better memories with our new family member  so we can start planning for baby #3.  Call me crazy, planning for number 3 while pregnant with number 2, but I just love this. I love nothing more than being a mother!

Energy and working out…

My daily energy is at a high, however, come 8:30! I’m ready to lay down and relax.  As far as my fit pregnancy goals go, I am not able to workout as much as I planned, not because of any medical reason, thankfully, but being extremely busy with other things right now, working out isn’t on the top of my list to do and to get done. Right now I workout at least 3 days a week. And it is always Full body!

As much as I miss working out like I use to and lifting heavy. Moving and keeping up with other things are priorities.

HOWEVER!! Closing date on the house is soon, and come fall,  after baby girl is here and everything is calm and back on schedule  I’ll will be back to my old routine 110% !  I’m pretty darn excited to start another fitness transformation after baby number 2! I already a organized nutrition and fitness plan typed out to start after baby.
Baby Girl…

Baby girl is “about 2 pounds and roughly 14 1/2 inches long” My last two ultrasounds she was measuring 4/5 days ahead.

Let’s discuss these kicks though. Holly Cow!!  My pregnancy with my son, he was active, but not this active, nor did I feel his kicks this intense.

Aydens due date was October 18 and this due date is October 25. Let me add, daddy’s birthday is the SAME as aydens! 3 birthday all in the same month and week! Lol   Anyways, comparing belly from pregnancy 1 and 2, I am smaller.  As I assumed and Doctor confirmed, starting this pregnancy much more fit and active, my belly isn’t expanding as quick as last time. So I feel those kicks EVERYWHERE. And to be honest, they can really hurt. A few kicks made me stop in my tracks and hunch over in public lol, but I completely love it, baby girl knows exactly what her paranoid, extreme worrier of a mother needs daily.
All in all, I feel great, I’m so excited, words can not even explained. Every kick I feel brings a smile to my face and feeling of sadness knowing I still have a few more months I have to wait to meet her!

I  am continuously thinking and counting down the days to see her for the first time , smell that new baby smell, see her in daddy’s arms and watch our son give his sister a kiss on the forehead.

New Baby fear…

My main fear at the moment is breast feeding. I’m so excited to breast feed this time, but since I didn’t do it with pregnancy 1, it’s kind of intimidating. Considering I am a person that like to organize and prepare for everything. Breast feeding has to be learned when baby gets here, and we learn together.  Unfortunately it’s nothing I can really practice for  and that scares me a little !  I think all the fear will go away when she gets here and I can actually start instead of reading about it and making myself nervous lol however, any breast feeding comments are 100% welcomed from mothers with experience =]

Is it fall yet?! Let’s get this summer over with =]

Quick and Easy Stenciling

Hey guys! Pretty Quick Post Here.  While waiting for another Project to Dry, I was messing around with one of those decorate panels  that we took off of the Refinished Cedar Chest Plus New Pallet Stained Top

I had these Pretty large stickers That I wanted to use to label something with. Not sure what I was labeling just yet, but I bought them anyways.

When I first started to stencil my first couple project, I was always worried about messing up and having the paint bleed through. Now I look back and think That was silly, A little practice is really all you need, But I still wanted to try and experiment while I waited for another project to dry, So I made  a Random little hand held chalk board for Ayden to practice his writing on.

However, now I know if I see any sticker letters that I love, It’s worth a try to use them.

For this I just had  stickers like these>>>>> Large Letter Stickers

So this was the random  wood I used while I was waiting for my other project to dry.

I sanded each side then painted. Ayden wanted his name in grey, so I used Grey!

And put my Stickers on…

quick and easy Stenciling how to stencil with stickers 2

I push the letters down as hard as I could. Outline the edges really good so it would bleed under!  For this I Used >>>>> Chalk Board Spray Paint    I Took my time spraying over the letters, farther away, and very lightly compared to the bottom of the board, So I went over it a few more times.

As I waited for it to dry, I was already being a Negative Nancy and assuming since the spray paint was so watery, that it was going to leak right under the stickers.

On another piece of scrap wood, I Tested it on one letter with my regular paint and it worked as well. I took a foam roller, and went over the letter with light paint a couple times and it also worked great!

And here it is after I pulled of the letters…

Added a little Storm Trooper  and the Stenciling came out Pretty awesome.  After I took the last Picture, I ended up covering of Ayden and the Storm trooper to put  another coat of spray on the bottom. I focused so much  on spraying the top so it wouldn’t leak, I felt the bottom needed an extra Coat.

So Overall, I figured out Stickers aren’t completely out of the question  if your looking for a quick Or easy Way to Stencil something.

Ayden likes when I draw a weekly schedule on there so he knows what days he has his karate, other activities and when Daddy is Off Work! Each night he crosses that day off, Along with his Star Wars Calendar Countdown to His Birthday and When Baby Comes!! =)

Kids Play Table/Desk and Chairs

As some of you might have already seen our Refinished Cedar Chest  that we did for a Toy Box in the Kids New Playroom for the New House.  You can check that one out here>>Refinished Cedar Chest Plus New Pallet Stained Top

We are getting closer and closer to move in Date and Im getting really anxious to set up our projects in the new house.

When I saw the Old Chest at  a Resale shop, I knew I had to get it for the Kids Playroom. We took of the Decorative panels on the Front, took of the top and built a new with some fairly new pallets Then I stained those.

On to the Desk… I wanted a Play Table/ Desk  to match the  Toy Chest. So I gave Matt  my Idea and he got to work. It came out exactly how I imagined , which is pretty amazing considering the explanation I gave him was a very horrible drawing of lines connected and a lot of arm movement, hand gestures making shapes and giving him example measurements compared to my Arm and legs lol That love for ya. The Man Understands me!!

Desk and play table for kids made with pallets white washed and stained 2

The bottom was made with  older pallets and the top is new wood from Home Depot. The front is Where I wanted   a little book shelf for  extra storage. The back Has  just two Regular Legs, Considering I already know I will have this up against the wall in their playroom.

I painted the bottom white then white washed and Stained the top with Dark Walnut Minwax  and it was FINISHED! Coated the top with polly !

However, we needed some Matching Chairs for the Kids! And I found these two Little chairs at a Goodwill Outlet right away.stained and white washed chairsThe was the Chair Before. I loved how it had the Heart on the Chair. I felt pretty lucky to find two of the same chairs like this. So I sanded, primed, painted and Stained. Last thing After the chair was dried, I stenciled Their Named on the top!

stained and white washed chairs 2 Ayden Of course picked his name to be in Red, and he picked an Orange Color for Eva!

Last thing, We made a tiny box for crayon   and whatever else The kids will end up using it  for!

And if you haven’t seen already, My…DIY Kids Coloring and Art Display Sign Made With Pallets to hand above the Desk!

And here is a couple picture of the Finished project. Right now it is just set up in my Son Rooms, but he absolutely loves it. He’s  been doing “VERY IMPORTANT” Work and drawings all morning! ❤
